Everything here describes what the site actually does today.
Finding a business
No. MyLocal shows what a shop stocks and what a service provider does, and puts you in touch with them directly by phone or WhatsApp. Everything after that — the price, the appointment, the payment — is between you and them.
You can collect items from a shop into a list and send the whole thing to that shop in one message, instead of typing it out. It is not an order and nothing is reserved: the shop replies to confirm what it has.
Use the services section rather than the shop listings. Providers say which neighbourhoods they travel to, so you can narrow the list to the ones who work in yours.
For shops
No. Listing is free and there is no commission, because nothing is sold through MyLocal for us to take a cut of. You get a page with your products, photographs, opening hours and contact details.
No. A page works with none at all — it still shows who you are, where you are and how to reach you. Products are worth adding because they are what people search for.
For service providers
Yes. Choose a service on the listing form and you are asked what you do and which areas you travel to, rather than what you stock. Plumbers, electricians, tutors, salons and caterers are all listed this way.
No. Most trades quote on the job, so the listing form does not ask for a price at all. Starting rates can be added later if you want them shown.
Choose both on the listing form. You fill your details in once and get a single page with a products section and a services section.
Listings and reviews
Submissions are checked by hand before they go live, usually within a couple of working days. We check that the details are real, not that we approve of the business.
Use the contact form with your business name and what needs changing, and we will update it.
Reviews are read before they are published, and a rating is the average of what has been published. We do not write reviews, and we do not remove one for being unflattering.
Where we cover
Vijayawada, Guntur and Visakhapatnam. Each is organised by neighbourhood, so a search can be narrowed to the part of the city you are actually in.
Not yet — a listing has to sit in a city we cover, or nobody would be able to find it. Tell us through the contact form and we will know where to open next.
